Feb 16th 2016 marked a new phase in my career. I was posted to Politeknik Port Dickson as a Deputy Director of Academics. Initially I was shocked as I did not apply but I was also pleased at the same time as I have been waiting for this change for quite some time. Please don't get me wrong. I never wished to be a Deputy Director..I just wanted to go back to the polytechnic. I wanted to be with the students again.

| A Special Needs Graduate |
The first four weeks at the polytechnic was more on the acclimatizing process. Getting to know the polytechnic, understanding the culture etc. I was super excited as two weeks after I reported, PPD was busy with the convocation ceremony. Being at the front row, wearing the robe was kind of fun. That was when I learnt about the 'adat' of Negeri Sembilan. It's fascinating and very different from the 'adat' of Negeri Kedah, Perak or Selangor or even Sarawak. I was told that they were four 'Undang's and they were treated the same way that one would treat a royalty in other states. The convocation went on for four days and the Undang Luak Sg Ujong was involved for the entire four days! Excellent commitment,I'd say.

Graduates Happy Faces
|
We had a special needs student who managed to graduate with flying colours. I was told that he was quite a popular student ,one that enjoyed his time in the polytechnic. His success was a lesson that I learnt that somehow touches my soul till today.
Convocation is not just a ceremony. It brings happiness and hope. It is an official end of the phase of one's journey but also the beginning of a new phase.
I hope all those young graduates of PPD will continue to excel in their lives. May Allah guide them in their endeavor.
